Okay, so I bit the bullet and forked out £75 for a genuine Ford sensor and it made absolutely no difference whatsoever , I've been told the fault could be anything from a dodgy connection in the wiring loom to an ECU fault, so have decided to cut our losses and have just part-exchanged the car against another one !!
