The 1.8/2.0 Duratec HE petrol engine requires a 5W30 engine oil which complies with the Ford wss-m2c913-c or wss-m2c913-d specifications.. Personally I use the Ford Formula-F engine oil or the Castrol Magnatec Professional A5 engine oil.The blue colored smoke would smell more like burning oil, which would indicate a broken piston ring, ect. the white smoke if it smells of coolant (anti-freeze) would lean toward a head gasket problem. White smoke in the exhaust, more so on a cold start. That's steam. Water is getting into the combustion chamber.
